Perhaps you’ve heard of this wonderful book, “The 5 Languages of Love”:

HERE it is at the Vancouver Public Library

The basic premise of it is that there are 5 languages of love:

  1. Physical Touch
  2. Words of Affirmation
  3. Acts of Service
  4. Quality Time
  5. Gifts

In relationships (couples, parent/child), one person’s “language of love” may be different from another person’s language.  So someone could be showing their love in their language but the receiver is not receiving it because it is not in their language.  It’s like someone is speaking to you in German but you only speak Chinese.

I have found it to be a very powerful & effective, I highly recommend it.

I recently discovered their website in which you can fill out a questionnaire and figure out what your language of love is.   You can do the questionnaire twice, one for your romantic relationship and one for your parent/child relationship.

The Website is HERE

I invite you, your spouse and your children to do the questionnaire and then work on showing your love to each other in each others language.  I’m sure you will feel more love and connection in your relationships!

Let me know how it goes.

Wishing you a lovely Valentine’s Day!

PS.  You don’t have to be in a relationship to celebrate Valentine’s Day.  Do something special for you or some one you care about.
