I was really touched by this video of Mr. Rogers testifying before the Senate Committee to defend funding for the newly formed non-profit  PBS. Forty-nine years later his message is more relevant than ever.

Society has been telling women that they need to be beautiful as if it’s the most important thing they can be. To the point that 91% of women hate their bodies. So many of us have lost perspective on what matters. The purpose of our life is not to be an ornament to be looked at but to do, feel, accomplish and contribute. We need to focus on more important things. Let’s stop wasting our life being at war with our body and embrace it!

I thought this video was worth sharing.

William, Harry and Kate talk about the importance communication. Quite something for members of the Royal Family to be talking about this! They talk about how it can be difficult and uncomfortable to start certain conversations but how it’s important to not bottle up our feelings as it can have a detrimental effect on our mental health (I would say physical health too). These conversations can be a form of medicine. It’s so true isn’t it!? Feels so good to clear the air if something is bothering us.

I’d also add that exercise is a form of medicine. And not only physically but also mentally. You always feel better after exercising or a good talk!

Take a moment to consider how you might apply this to your life.
