After hearing so much about it, I finally read Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes and loved it!

(here it is at the VPL)

It’s about opening yourself up, getting out of your comfort zone and saying YES! to life.

If you’re looking for an uplifting inspirational read, I highly recommend it.

Here’s her Ted Talk:

Bored & Brilliant

Are you like me? A little addicted to your phone?

In 2015, Manoush Zomorodi challenged the listeners of her podcast Note to Self to change their relationship with their phones. She led thousands through a week of experiments designed to help them reassess their technology habits, unplug for part of each week and jump-start their creativity.

It became a lesson in realizing that “doing nothing” is vital in life and that taking control of phone use is important so we can focus on what really matters to us.

I’m going to take the challenge!
(and try to convince my family to join me)
Will you join me?

Check out the Ted Talk and now there’s a new book (at vpl, audio).

Embrace Your Body!

Society has been telling women that they need to be beautiful as if it’s the most important thing they can be. To the point that 91% of women hate their bodies. So many of us have lost perspective on what matters. The purpose of our life is not to be an ornament to be looked at but to do, feel, accomplish and contribute. We need to focus on more important things. Let’s stop wasting our life being at war with our body and embrace it!

.

I highly encourage you to watch this inspiring movie “Embrace” on Netflix.

I hope it inspires you to love your body!
